The Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Investments (APIA) has announced the opening of applications for the selection of startups operating in the green and blue economy sector. This call for applications is part of a program funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) entitled « EMPOWERING ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS IN GREEN & BLUE ECONOMY IN MED AND AFRICA REGION » (Startup10), which is managed by CIHEAM Bari for a period of two years.
The objective of the Startup10 program is to promote food security and youth employment in ten partner countries of Italian cooperation, including Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Uganda, in collaboration with 22 incubators.
By strengthening the capacities of these incubators, the project aims to stimulate the development of local startups in the green and blue economy sectors, while integrating digitization processes.
In total, seven startups will be selected per incubator operating in the green and blue economy.
