The heat wave that has been plaguing Latin America since the start of the year pushed the temperature felt to a record high of 62.3°C in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this weekend.

In São Paulo, the largest city in South America with more than 12 million inhabitants, Saturday was the hottest day of the year, with the mercury reaching 34.7°C.
