Cherif Sammari holds a PhD in Oceanology (option: physical oceanography) and a University habilitation in the same discipline. He is Professor of Higher Education at INSTM where he was, among other things, director of the Marine Environment Laboratory from 2002 to 2015. Prof. Sammari is very active in the field of observation and dynamic measurements in both coastal and offshore areas. In this capacity, he is very active in the IOC/UNESCO GOOS programme, of which he was co-chair from 2007 to 2011. Prof. Sammari is a member of several National and International Commissions and is the author of several scientific articles. He is increasingly interested in cross-cutting projects and has recently been appointed as a member of the GSO-BlueMed, an EU initiative whose ultimate goal is the creation of Blue Jobs.
