  • From July 2014 until today:
    Director of the SPA/RAC: which is the centre of marine biodiversity in the Mediterranean.
    This centre is one of the 6 regional activity centres operating within the framework of the Barcelona Convention for the Protection of the Mediterranean Sea and its Coastal Region and under the aegis of the United Nations Environment Programme/Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP/MAP).
    The mission of the SPA/RAC is to assist Mediterranean countries (Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention) in the implementation of their obligations under the Protocol on Specially Protected Areas and Biological Diversity in the Mediterranean.
  • June 2003 – July 2014:
    CEO of the Office National de l’Assainissement de Tunisie (ONAS). The ONAS is a public company responsible for the creation, operation and management of all infrastructures for the collection, transfer and treatment of domestic and industrial wastewater in Tunisia.
  • December 2000 – June 2003 :
    CEO of the National Environmental Protection Agency (ANPE). The ANPE is the public body in charge of controlling, monitoring and evaluating the state of the environment and controlling all forms of environmental pollution in Tunisia. Its role includes both preventive and curative interventions as well as monitoring-evaluation, awareness raising and environmental education programmes.
  • September 1998 – December 2000:
    DG of the General Directorate of Environment and Quality of Life (DGEQV) at the Ministry of Environment and Land Management in Tunisia.
  • June 1996 – September 1998 :
    CEO of the International Centre for Environmental Technologies of Tunis (CITET). This centre is the public enterprise in charge of all that is transfer of environmentally sound technologies, technological development in the field of the environment including the interface with the world of research, industry and socio-economic operators as well as the reinforcement of skills in the field of eco-technologies.
  • February 1995 – June 1996 :
    Director of the Directorate of Industrial Environment and Follow-up of Major Environmental Projects as well as coordination with the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) at the Ministry of Environment and Land Management in Tunisia.
  • February 1985 – February 1995 :
    Office National de l’Assainissement (ONAS): Respectively, Senior Engineer, Head of Division of Major Projects in Greater Tunis and then Head of the Regional Department of Central Tunisia (including the 6 governorates of the centre of the country).
