A lecturer in coastal and maritime engineering at several universities, he is a director of the Agence de Protection et d’Aménagement du Littoral (APAL) in Tunisia, chairman of the Réseau Méditerranéen du Littoral et de la Mer (RMLM) and of the Association Tunisienne de l’Ingénierie Côtière, Portuaire et Maritime (ATIM). He is also Vice-President of the Saison Bleue, Secretary General of the Cluster Maritime Tunisien (CMT) and General Commissioner of the World Maritime Forum – Bizerte (FMMB).
