Natural Ecosystems has more than twenty years of experience and responsibility in the Ministry of the Environment. It oversees the conservation and protection of biological diversity in Tunisia. He supervises and manages several projects dealing respectively with biodiversity, protected areas, other critical ecosystems, knowledge management and partnerships, coastal and marine biodiversity, and administrative and financial issues. He has also contributed to the drafting of documents and discussions on national biodiversity issues.

At the same time, it provided leadership, guidance and direction in the preparation of the 5th and 6th national biodiversity reports under the Convention on Biological Diversity, as well as the Tunisian Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan 2018-2030, adopted in 2018.

It is also leading the development of a national policy framework on biodiversity and a national strategy and action plan on invasive alien species.

Mr. Ben TEMESSEK is the National Focal Point for the Convention on Biological Diversity, for the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and for the UNEP/MAP Barcelona Convention Regional Activity Centre for Specially Protected Areas (RAC/SPA).
