Former Head of EU Cooperation with Latin America, the United States, and the Caribbean in Science and Innovation, she also served as Head of the “Healthy Seas and Oceans” unit at the Directorate-General for Research & Innovation (European Commission) until her retirement two years ago. In that role, she was responsible for, among other things, defining and framing the EU’s Mission Starfish 2030 (Restore our Ocean & Waters by 2030), collaborating with other Commission services and the Mission Board chaired by Pascal Lamy. She now works as an active Senior Advisor for the European Commission.
